Reginald Russell has been active in several areas, including transactions, intellectual property and consumer bankruptcy, but it’s in healthcare and compliance where he’s made his biggest mark.
Mr. Russell did general counsel work for a major surgery center, and has had a perfect success rate in regulatory and compliance defense. In about 20 cases in front of the Nevada Medical and Nursing Boards, the Nevada State Bar, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and others, Mr. Russell has always come away with a favorable ruling for his clients.
While he also handles employment contracts and business growth initiatives, it was the opportunity to do compliance work that drew Mr. Russell to IBP in the first place, as a way to clear the path for physicians to focus on the important work they do, while having peace of mind that it would be all be performed well within regulatory guidelines.
“Physicians, they didn’t go to medical school just to make money,” Mr. Russell said. “They had this underlying desire to help people. A lot of times the regulatory environment is so complex, that it’s extremely difficult, if not impossible, to manage it on your own, as a solo practitioner or as a group practice. We work with medical providers and we help them to help other people. If you’re bombarded with all these regulations, it’s hard for you to do what you do best. That’s where we come in. I like to help people. By helping doctors, you’ll be able to help others.”
He earned dual bachelor’s in international business and romance languages in 1997, and his J.D. in from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2010.
